When I started working on this project, it was my goal to create a character model that could be used in a modern action RPG. Max design is a very imaginative take on a classic knight. Her color scheme consists almost exclusively of shades of purple and pink with some yellow accents. She is covered in armor plates and whields a massive hammer.
After finishing the character artwork, I started working on the 3D model of Max. For that I illustrated a front, back and sideview of her. Then I first blocked out the model in blender and did some sculpting and retypology. After that I added the armor plates and all the other accessories to the model. Afterward I rigged and posed the character. I also wanted the 3D model to have somewhat of a cartoony look. So I played around with some shader settings and gave the character model a cel shaded look and outlines.
I also designed a character screen for Max giving the players more information about her. The character screen is structured similar to those in modern action RPGs showcasing the characters element, class, rarity, current level as well as a bunch of stats like health points or strength. Located on top of the screen, there is also a selector where the players can switch between the different characters in the game.
