This animation project is about the amount of water, that is used in the production process of products we use in our daily life. Our goal for this project was to create an short animation that is educational as well as fun to watch. We didn't want to produce an animation that takes itself too serious.
After doing lots of research we started with sketching out a storyboard that provided an overview of the story and conveyed the overall tone of the animation. The next step was to translate our storyboard into a script and to record all the text that was supposed to be in the animation.
Before starting to work on the actual animation, we prepared most of the different scenes and characters in Illustrator. After that we imported those files into After Effects an started animating them. We wanted the animations to be really smooth and dynamic and due to this project being about water, we had to animate quite a lot of it, which was especially challenging. Finally we added some music and sound effects and with that the project was completed.
